Chirp Debuts Contrast: Hot, Cold, and Right on Target
A first-of-its-kind relief device that pairs rapid hot and cold therapy with targeted pressure at the base of the skull, built to help relieve neck tension, tension headaches, and migraines.
The full story
Chirp is advancing its mission to bring relief to as many people as possible with the debut of Chirp Contrast, a first-of-its-kind hot and cold therapy device designed to help relief seekers unwind from the top down after long workdays, late nights, and everything in between.
Contrast is built for the spot where so much tension settles: the suboccipitals, a small group of muscles where the skull meets the neck. Long hours at a desk and eyes locked on a screen can keep these muscles working overtime. For many people, that tightness shows up as neck pain or a tension headache.*
Contrast meets that tension head-on. It combines two trusted approaches to relief, targeted pressure and contrast therapy, in one compact device that rests under the neck like a pillow.
“We didn’t set out to make another neck product,” says Tate, CEO of Chirp. “We set out to create something that didn’t exist. Contrast brings heat, cold, and suboccipital release together in a completely new way to melt away neck pain and tension headaches. Some products are iterations. Contrast is an invention.”
At the center of the experience are ThermaTouch™ Adjustable Nodes. They apply deep, static pressure to help release tension at the base of the skull. Seven node positions let you set the width that fits your neck, and flipping Contrast over switches between direct and gentle pressure.
Surrounding the nodes, ThermaWeave™ Technology switches temperatures in mere seconds. Heat sink blades warm and cool the nodes across three intensity levels, with three thermal modes to choose from: Hot to relax tension, Cold to help reduce inflammation, and Contrast, which cycles between the two to encourage blood flow to stiff, overworked muscles.
“We didn’t set out to make another neck product. We set out to create something that didn’t exist.”
“Contrast is made for the moments when neck tension turns into a headache,” says Paul, Executive Vice President of Product at Chirp. “ThermaTouch™ nodes apply deep, focused pressure right at the base of the skull, while ThermaWeave™ technology alternates heat and cold every 90 seconds to help relax tight muscles and release tension. Fifteen minutes lying back on Contrast is a simple way to build real relief into your day.”
Every detail is designed around real life. Built-in fans produce soothing pink noise that helps mask disruptive sounds and reduce sensory overstimulation while you unwind. A non-slip base keeps Contrast steady, a soft surface keeps it comfortable, and a compact, portable design lets relief travel from the desk to the couch to the hotel room.
Contrast builds on research into suboccipital release¹ and contrast therapy², and it keeps the routine simple: lie back, choose a mode, and let the nodes go to work.
Contrast is HSA/FSA eligible and comes with a 30-day at-home free trial, because relief is something you have to feel to believe.
Contrast is the newest addition to the Chirp Functional Relief System, Chirp's growing lineup of tools built to deliver a world of relief.
Chirp Contrast will be available October 13th at gochirp.com.
*Not all migraines and tension headaches are the same and may stem from different sources. Contrast™ is intended to help relieve headaches associated with suboccipital tightness.
