Listen to These Songs while You Roll Out Your Back on the Chirp Wheel

Music is amazing. It can change your mood, it represents your culture, it encourages soldiers during war, and it can help you work out. Music has been around for a long time as a form of worship, celebration, and relaxation.  So why can’t we use it to help get rid of our back pain? Well, we can. The song you listen to while you roll out your back depends on the mood you’re in. Here are some options for back-rolling fun.

These songs are for when you have a lot of energy:

Song number 1: “Shake your body (down to the ground)” by Michael Jackson. This song will make you want to roll your back out for hours. Instead of singing the real lyrics, try singing “roll your body down to the ground.” It works. It really does.

Song number 2: “Pump up the Jam” by Technotronic. Get your booty on the floor tonight. Make my day.

Song number 3: “Single Ladies (Put a ring on it)” by Beyoncé. If you like your back then you shoulda put a ring on it and rolled.

Song number 4: “Push it” by Salt-N-Pepa. Push your Chirp Wheel real good on your back. Oh baby, baby. That’s what you’ll be saying.

Song number 5: “Dancing in the Dark” by Bruce Springsteen. Just listen to those lyrics. They’re speaking about your back pain: “I come home in the morning. I go to bed feeling the same way. I ain’t nothing but tired . . .” Bruce gets you.

These songs are for when you just want to relax:

Song number 1: “Weightless” by Marconi Union. Marconi Union (looks like macaroni union, but it’s not) worked with therapists to create what is apparently the most relaxing song in the universe. When the song was tested, it reduced stress by 65 percent in the participants of the study. So roll out your back and relax the best way you possibly can. And then just go to sleep.

Song number 2: “Watermark” by Enya. This song has piano. Need I say more? Piano is just the prettiest-sounding instrument ever. And then once the piano grabs your attention, angels start singing. And the music gets gradually louder and louder . . . and then quiet again. Just listen to it. Relax.

Song number 3: “Strawberry Swing” by Coldplay. If you prefer words in your songs, listen to this one instead. Not only is this song relaxing, but it’s one that won’t put you to sleep. It will just make you happy.

Song number 4: “Someone Like You” by Adele. There’s nothing like Adele.

Song number 5: “Canzonetta Sull’aria” by Mozart. Classical music is classic relaxation music. This aria is just pleasant.
